My Family

Randy & I

This is one of my favorite pictures of us.  It was snapped at a company Christmas party a few years ago.   I wish I could take credit for my hair, but I can't.  My hairdresser styled it that day.

Brantley

I chose this picture because this best represents Brantley.  He has had a ball in his hand since he could pick one up.  He was dribbling a basketball at 2.  He is athletically gifted to say the least.  Now, we just need to get his attitude in line with his ability.  He is a very strong willed child and always has been.  He has a sassy mouth (he's 12), but a tender heart.  He displays a tough exterior, but he is a softy on the inside.  He has always been his own person and I hope that he always is.  Sometimes, he reminds me so much of myself it's a little scary.

Peyton, better known as Buzz

Peyton became Buzz before he was born.  My dad is responsible for this.  My dad is a Vietnam veteran and there was a comic strip back in the day in which the writer signed off "Buzz, somewhere in Vietnam."  I'm not sure where the connection came from, but nevertheless it stuck.  And Buzz loves his nickname:-)  He is 10-years-old and one of the neatest kids you'll ever meet.  He's inquisitive, caring, thoughful, and honest.  He is very studious and detail oriented.  Deep thinker.  He loves to create
things and has a great imagination.

Gavin

And finally, this is my baby.  He's a 2-year-old firecracker!  He is terribly rotten and I take full responsibility.  Gavin changed my life.  He was our surprise baby.  My first two boys are only 23 months apart and there is a 7 year span between Gavin and Buzz.  I can't tell you how much I had grown and matured in those 7 years.  There is a HUGE difference in becoming a parent at 22 and becoming one at 31, let me tell ya.  The first few weeks after he was born were the happiest times of my life.  Not to take away from my other boys.  There is just something different about having a baby when you're settled and a little more mature.  He has taught me patience and has given me a new set of eyes to view life through.
